Kata Beach
Kata beach is a lovely family beach with two distinctive areas - north and south with Club Med in the middle.
The beach in Kata is a long curving stretch with beautifully clean sand and warm tropical waters. Watersports are available on parts of the beach and whatever end you choose - north or south - you will discover plenty away from the beach including resturants and small side streets to potter down. The sunset on this beach is usually very pretty so do buy some ice-creams and head to the beach to watch the sun setting. You will also see lots of surfers from the months of May to October, whilst calmer seas herald the arrival of snorkellers. The southern end has some rocks which older kids will love for snorkelling, whilst the smaller children can explore the shallow rock pools at the end of the day when it is cooler. Beach shoes are advised as the rocks can be slippery. When you leave the beach don't forget to sample some delicious local food sold by the hawkers - fresh fruit, corn on the cob, pancakes and more! Sunloungers, parasols etc are readily available.
