Snorkelling

There are a host of companies waiting to whisk you and your family off on a snorkelling adventure. Anything from half day trips are available, usually on board a speedboat. Once on board you will stop at various points to have a snorkel before stopping at a tropical beach for lunch. The trip is of course only suitable for parents and kids who can snorkel. Power Snorkelling

Diving

PADI offer a range of scuba diving courses for kids 8+ years from a Bubblemaker program in a pool environment, a great idea for birthday parties with a difference. Older kids aged 10+ years can try a Discover Scuba Diving program experiencing breathing underwater for the very first time whilst surrounded by fish. Or for the real adventurous kids then how about taking a Junior Open Water Diver Course (full certification) from 10-15 years. Learning to dive at an early age is an education every kid will love which can also include taking care of the underwater world by joining clean-up environment days and even underwater photography workshops learning about the creatures and corals of our seas and how to take care of them. Surfing

Surfing is a very popular pastime in Phuket with annual competitions being held at an international level. Clearly surfing requires waves so is only possible from May to October, Kata Beach is the major surfing hotspot. Phuket Surf offer lessons for kids aged 5 up and are based at Kata Yai. Waterskiing and Wakeboarding

Phuket waterski and cableway park is also located in Kathu and offers a sizeable lake with six cables. Great fun for kids and parents, there is a rail slide and some ramps for those who are more experienced and all types of boards and skis are available along with life jackets. Kite Surfing

Whitewater Rafting

White water rafting is usually offered in Phang Nga bay. Find out more from a reputable tour operator and do ensure full insurance is offered. Strictly for teenagers and adults.

Family Cruising

One of the most enjoyable ways to appreciate Phuket and her surrounding isles is aboard a yacht. Visit one of the local marinas to check out the different options – power or sail, crew or bare boat and take the family on an unforgettable cruise. Breathtaking scenery guaranteed.

Longtail Adventures

Journey on a traditional Thai boat for a fun day out to a neighbouring island. Long tail boats are noisy and can be a little uncomfortable but they can also be lots of fun. They can be picked up at Chalong Pier or Rawai bay but are best only used in calm waters and for short hops. Do check life jackets and shade is available before you leave.
