Found a great spot to spend a few hours with little kids on the southern side of BangTao beach. There's a a big space in front of Cafe Java and next to Bar@Beach where you can sit down and sort of relax while the little ones run around. There are a lot of trees - so plenty of shade. We parked inside BangTao Lagoon Bungalow and had lunch at Bar@Beach.
If anyone else has found great spots for kids under 4 (especially down south), please do post them - i'm always trying to find new spots to take my 2 1/2 year old for a good run around or a swim.
We generally go to Laem Ka which is on the left side before the bend in Rawai. Loads of shelter, calm waters and friendly locals. Need to take a beach mat with you but drinks are available on the beach.
Turn left at 7-11, drive through the coconut plantation and follow road round to the right. Park up and walk down the steps.
